Caribbean
Stud Poker, which as the name suggests, caught hold and became
popular in the Caribbean casinos first, has now spread and can
regularly be found in Las Vegas casinos and other gambling establishments
around the world.
While Caribbean Stud Poker is similar to standard poker in that
both share the common rankings of the hands, it is dissimilar
in most other aspects of the game. For one, Caribbean Stud Poker
is played against a dealer, not the other players; for another
there is none of the bluffing and skillful play inherent in
regular poker.
The game is relatively simple to play. Like five card stud poker,
five cards will be received by each participating player - there
will be no draws. The player's only decisions are whether to
call an additional bet after several cards are dealt, or whether
to fold the hand and forfeit the original ante bet.
There is one other facet
to the game that entices players to the Caribbean Stud Poker
tables: There is a progressive jackpot that pays off as much
as hundreds of thousands of dollars if a royal flush is drawn,
and smaller bonus payouts for other winning hands.
Let's take a look now and see what the game is all about.
