The players
goal in Caribbean Stud Poker is to draw a five card poker hand
that is stronger than the dealer's qualifying hand, and also,
when good cards are drawn, to hold a hand that is strong enough
to qualify for a bonus payout. The higher ranking the player's
hand, the greater the bonus won, with the caveat that the dealer
must possess a qualifying hand for the bonus to count. We'll
see what this means later on.
When placing the $1 optional progressive wager in Caribbean
Stud Poker, the player's goal for that bet is to draw a flush
or better to receive additional bonus payouts. In particular,
the player would like to get a Royal Flush, a hand that can
win him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Before we look at qualifying hands, and how that affects the
game, we'll review the poker hands for players unfamiliar with
their rankings.
